Brooklyn: Flatbush Avenue - Maple Street
(1) 563 Flatbush Ave., east side, between Maple and Midwood Streets. This house clearly marked on the map of 1908 of Brooklyn. The view is the Lefferts Farmhouse, removed in 1918, to Prospect Park. It stood at 563 Flatbush Ave., upon which site is now the North Cliff Hall Apartments. It was built by Pieter Lefferts (1753-1791), on site of an earlier house (built 1666), destroyed in the Battle of Flatbush, during the Revolution. 1922. Eugene L. Armbruster Collection. (2) This is a post out of the Lefferts barn 112 years old, stood on the Canarsie Lane near Midwood Street. It was razed in 1904. It was built in 1792. 373-375 Midwood Street, occupy the site. 1922.
