Brooklyn: Flushing Avenue - Sumner Place

(1) 796-800 Flushing Ave., south side, between Summer Place and Fayette Street. The house standing back from the street is an extension of the Charles De Bevoise house (built in 1836) the main portion of which stood on the site of No. 796. The German branch of the Y.M.C.A., organized in 1878, purchased the old homestead in 1885 and used it until merged with the main Williamsburg Y.M.C.A. About 1922? Eugene L. Armbruster Collection.
