Celebrations - Parades - Municipal events - Macy's Thanksgiving Parade.

Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, 1932, No. 18. Releasing the balloons at Macy's Store, 34th Street at Broadway, seen from and including Seventh Avenue. At the end of the parade, at Herald Square, the balloons are released and allowed to rise and blow away. A cash prize is offered to the lucky boy or girl who can find one of these balloons and bring it back to Macy's the next day. Here goes the jaguar. The alligator and the bear are seen in the street below. These pictures incidentally give a splendid view of the Empire State Building, the tallest in the world. November 24, 1932. P. L. Sperr.
