Queens: Metropolitan Avenue - Flushing Avenue
Metropolitan Avenue, (foreground, tracks thereon), between Flushing Avenue (left) and 53rd Street (right, not shown), showing at the right rear views of homes on the last mentioned Street. At the left is a small home on the north side of the second mentioned Avenue. At the intersection of the aforementioned Avenues, in 1852, stood a tollgate. This area was once known, as Oceanville.
