Brooklyn: 18th Avenue - 83rd Street

(1) Eighteenth Ave., east side, at the N.E. corner of 83rd Street; showing the New Utrecht Dutch Reformed Church, built in 1828, on site of the old New Utrecht schoolhouse, dedicated in 1829. The church was organized in 1677 in the schoolhouse. The services were held in private dwellings. A Church was erected in the Dutch burying ground, in 1700, at what is now the N.E. corner of Sixteenth Ave., and 84th Street. A local minister was installed in 1809. February 1923. Eugene L.
