Manhattan: 11th Avenue - 35th Street (West)
Eleventh Ave., south from West 35th Street, showing work progressing on the track removal project of the New York Central Railroad at this point. Note the steel bridgelike structure on the easterly side of the thoroughfare that will raise this Avenue ten feet above its former level and permit the railroad tracks to pass underneath, connecting the trackage in the rock cut with the yard layout on the westerly side of the Avenue. Appearing on the left, at the N.E. corner of the Avenue and West 35th Street is the old R.H. Macy Warehouse undergoing structural renovation to further this work and permit freight handling facilities to its future tenants under Railroad ownership. 1937.
