Queens: Roosevelt Avenue - St. George Road

Flushing Meadow Park (Queens): Viewing northeastward along the west bank of the Flushing River, the Whitestone spur of the Long Island Railroad and the marshes, from the Roosevelt Avenue bridge. Extensive improvements were later made in this area in connection with the New York World's Fair of 1939-40. View 2 shows part of the same area being reconstructed into an automobile parking space for Fair visitors, the view being from the Willets Point Boulevard station of the I. R. T. and B. M. T. "El" on Roosevelt Avenue. View 3 is eastward along the north side of Roosevelt Avenue toward the Willets Point Boulevard subway station and shows the station being enlarged (right) as the main north entrance to the Fair grounds.
