Manhattan: Grand Street - Ridge Street

(1) 438 to 430 Grand Street, north side, west from Ridge, to but not including Attorney Streets, showing St. Mary's R.C. Church (No. 438 Grand Street) at the N.E. corner of Ridge Street. The cornerstone of this church was laid April 30, 1832, by Bishop Du Bois. Its original edifice (1826) was on Sheriff Street, between Broome and Delancey Street and destroyed by fire in 1831, which was commonly believed to have been caused by a burglar. January 1924.
