East River, shore and skyline, Manhattan: The area above the Brooklyn Bridge, as photographed from the partially completed structure, showing the River, the waterfront and buildings in the Corlears Hook vicinity. In the center appears the peaked floating Seamen's Church. This is their third and is at the foot of Pike Slip. Market Slip is to the left, with the U. S. Bonded Warehouse to the west. The U. S. Naval Rendezvous Bank is at No. 452-4 Water Street. This was also known as the Seamens Exchange. Note the Hoe plant on Grand Street, in the background.
