Queens: Metropolitan Avenue - 75th Road

Metropolitan Avenue (tracks thereon) at the N.W. corner of 75th Road, showing in two views the James Hendrickson house; erected on the site of the Townsend Hendricksen house (1852) which burned down. This place in 1909 was owned by James Van Sicklen. Later it was occupied by a Tennis Club which had the house moved to the south side of Metropolitan Avenue and remodeled. In 1929 it was on the S.E. corner of Metropolitan Avenue and 72nd Road. It has, since a fire, been altered and is now a two family house. October 1923 Views 1 and 2 Eugene L. Armbruster Collection
