Islands - Rikers Island - [Tug George Waldie with several barges.]

Rikers Island; A view northward of the Island from a point on the East River and showing a smaller plot in the foreground. Buildings shown are at the ferry slip and consist mainly of the newly constructed prison quarters. The mounds appearing on the easterly portions are composed of ashes and debris collected in the City by the Department of Sanitation. This is a set of three views; one and two being similar, while No. 3 shows a limited view. Appearing in the foreground of the latter is the tug, George Waldie with several barges. July 1, 1937. P. L.
