(1) Ave. Y., north side, between East 14th and 15th Streets, showing the Emmans farmhouse known as "Old Homestead". Eugene L. Armbruster states that from 1857-1860, it was occupied by one Emmons, and in 1872 by A.J. Emmons. However the Beer atlas of Long Island (1873) states the house be that of J. Emmer. In 1890 it was owned by an M. Teets. Since 1912 a Bessie Mill has occupied it. It is not in the atlas of 1929, evidently having been demolished. March 1923. Eugene L. Armbruster Collection.
