Bronx: Bryant Avenue - 174th Street

1687-1711 Bryant Ave., adjoining the S.W. corner of East 174th Street, showing the Denike Mansion, on the former estate of Colonel Abraham (or Abram) Denike. The G.W. Bromley map of 1924 as revised to September 1932 shows the area to be a clearance, with the property immediately surrounding it occupied by 6-story apartment buildings. The mansion was demolished between 1913 and 1924 (see same maps). 1911. Gift of Randall Comfort.
