Manhattan: 52nd Street (West) - 6th Avenue

West 52nd Street, east from Sixth Avenue, as photographed during the subway constructional period on the latter thoroughfare. The buildings at the N. E. corner were removed to permit tunnelling for the eastward curve to 53rd Street. The remaining former residences are now occupied by various restaurants and night clubs, and constitute a well known entertainment center for the cafe society group. June 21, 1939 No's. 1-2-3 P. L.
