Manhattan: Amsterdam Avenue - Cathedral Parkway - 113th Street
THE CATHEDRAL OF SAINT JOHN THE DIVINE AS IT WILL APPEAR WHEN COMPLETED The apse at left and the central portion under the proposed tower are already in place (???), and the foundation has been laid for the nave occupying the right half of our picture. The whole structure will be 600 feet long, and the spire 500 feet high. It will be larger in every way than St.. Paul's or Westminster Abbey, in London, or the great Cathedrals at Winchester and York. It will be exceeded in size only by St. Peter's in Rome and the Cathedral of Seville in Spain. The Cathedral although incorporated a half century ago is only one-third completed today. Approximately $15,000,000 more will be spent on it.
