Brooklyn: Bay Avenue - Kings Highway

(1) Bay Ave., north of King's Highway. The street in the foreground is Ryder Ave., a continuation of Bay Ave. Both of these streets are non existent in 1929. The house in the background is 1515 Mansfield (East 24th Street), in 1929. The house in the foreground if standing in 1929, would be at the N.W. corner of Bedford Ave. and King's Highway. This house was the property of one Wyckoff in 1857? and later of the C. Bennett Estate?. It definately [sic] belonged in 1873 to W. Convel and at a later date, to B.G. Hitchings, being known then, as "The Club House." From fore to background, those two houses occupied lots 142 and 144 in the Town of South Greenfield, according to Map No. 444 issued in 1854. 1922.
