Queens: 56th Avenue - East Queens Boulevard.

Fifty-sixth Avenue, (Horse Brook Road) north side, east of Queens Boulevard to Fifty-sixth Avenue, showing what is probably the house of William Vallence. He erected a bark mill just west of his house on Horse Brook Creek. From 1873-1891 R.A. Borem was the owner. He was followed by his son James. In 1820 or thereabouts Abraham C. Rapelye was the owner. Views one, two, and three show a rear view of the house. View No. 4 also shows rears of additional houses. They all face on Justice Avenue. The house referred to in these views has since its original erection been rebuilt. It was still standing in November 1933. May 1923 Views 2&3: March 1923 View 4: October 1928. Eugene L. Armbruster
