Manhattan: Park Avenue - 51st Street

Park Avenue, north from 51st Street, about 9:30 A.M., showing buildings along east side. It is possible to see nearly a mile of the Avenue. Notice Hotel Ambassador, 51st to 52d Streets, built in 1919 and the Montane Apartments (1912) between 52nd and 53rd Streets. The tiny building on the N.E. corner of 53rd Street is a survival of the era before the railroad was electrified, about 1924 it will be demolished. No. 441, in the N.E. corner of 56th Street, also dates back to the 1880's. Note cross-town street-cars at 59th Street. 1921. Ewing Galloway, Photographer.
