The tenements shown occupy the 39th - 40th and 40th - 41st Street blocks. The white business structure seen is a portion of the News Building of which the southerly side (north side of 41st Street) predominates. Obstructing the store fronts is the Second Avenue "El". View No. 2 shows only the 39th - 40th Street frontage, which No. 3, being from the street level shows the N.W. corner at 39th Street and the Avenue.
