Bronx: Macombs Road - Mt. Eden Avenue

(1) 1585 Macombs Road, west side at Mt. Eden Avenue, showing the Townsend Poole Cottage. It was built in 1782. Here Lieutenant Peary's eskimos were for a time lodged. A five-story apartment house was later erected here. Gift of Randall Comfort 1899 (2,3) The same, years later 1915
