Brooklyn: Linden Boulevard - Grant Avenue
Linden Boulevard, on the west side of the Grant Ave. street line. This house was demolished as it was in the line of the extended Linden Boulevard. It was originally located on the S.E. corner of the Road to the Neck and the Road to the Landing. There were three Forbell homes in 1873. The first to appear on any atlas is that in the above location, the second was on the N.E. corner of Grant and Dumont Aves., and may be still standing in 1929. The store was on the N.W. corner of Dumont Ave. and Old Mill Road in the line of Grant Ave.; the third on the N.E. corner of Linden Boulevard and Lincoln Ave. The owners in 1873 were: 1st house, H. Forbell; 2nd house, J.Y. Forbell; store, A. Forbell; 3rd house, W. Forbell. Eugene L. Armbruster, the Collector, states: Isaac Forbell farmhouse at Forbell's Landing. Isaac, the builder of the houses, was the father of Ambrose, who was the father of Isaac. About 1908. Eugene L. Armbruster Collection.
