Brooklyn: Flatbush Avenue - Clarendon Road

(1) Flatbush Ave., east side, between Clarendon Road and Ave. D., showing the Cap't Cornelius Vanderveer house, also known as the Flag house. (Cap't Vanderveer was born in 1731; in the old house built by his father on this site, and it was upon this site in 1787, that the present house was built by the Captain. It was demolished in 1911. It stood south of Vanderveer Place, in 1880, and in Vanderveer Place in 1908, and No. 1159, where it is supposed to have stood is just north of the same street. About 1910. Eugene L.
