Manhattan: 2nd Ave. - 36th St. E.

Second Avenue, north from East 36th Street, showing mainly the east side of this thoroughfare. In the foreground, and extending to 37th Street is a fenced clearance necessitated by the Midtown-Queens Tunnel plaza approach. The remaining structure is the St. Gabriels branch of the New York Public Library. This is to come down early in 1940. In the distance appears Tudor City.
