Manhattan: 16th Street (West) - 5th Avenue

New York Hospital, 6-12 West 16th Street, south side, just west of Fifth Avenue. This institution was chartered in 1771, and admitted its first patient in 1791. The original buildings were demolished in 1869, and the 15th to 16th Streets buildings opened in 1877. They will be demolished in 1934, when the hospital moves to York Avenue.
