Manhattan: 9th Avenue - Gansevoort Street

Ninth Avenue, at Gansevoort Street, showing the "El" curve at this point after its emergence out of Greenwich Street. The photographer is viewing southward from a point slightly above Little West 12th Street. The latter appears at the right. Note the drum like apparatus required to continue the wire cable.
