Manhattan: Central Park - Playgrounds [Ball ground and athletic fields and the Green.]

Central Park: Ball Ground and athletic field, and the Green, in the southwestern corner of the Park, with Columbus Circle and Eighth Avenue in the foreground. In the upper left hand corner Central Park West runs off the picture about 69th Street; and in the upper right hand corner may be seen the southern end of the Mall. The old sheepfold, between the West Drive and the 66th Street gate, will be rebuilt in 1934 as an outdoor restaurant, The Tavern on the Green. In this aerial view the driveways, bridle path, and pedestrian pathways stand out very clearly. About 1929. Ewing Galloway.
