Queens: Main Street - 39th Avenue

Main Street, west side, north from 40th Road, showing a continuation in two views to Thirty-ninth Ave. In the foreground of view No. 1 is the Vanderwater Grocery operated by John T. in the early 1870's. It was later operated by Divine Vanderwater who sold to a Jamaica realty corporation. In view No. 2 is seen the Geddes Paint store (half a century here) and the Hepburn Pharmacy (established in 1870.) In the background of view No. 1 is the steeple of St. George's Episcopal Church.
