Queens: Northern Boulevard - Main Street

(1-4) Northern Boul., south side, east of Main St. (right), showing an old home said to be standing in 1819. In 1826 Joshua and Rachel Kimber conducted a private school in this house. In 1830 it was the home of one Bissett; and in 1873, it was occupied by I. Frost. Eugene L. Armbruster also states it was at one time the home of Jacob P. Haubeil. This individual operated the Fountain House in 1896. However a Mr. Michels denies that Jacob F. Haubiel ever lived at 101 Broadway (now Northern Boul.). For more information see the S.E. corner of Main St. and Northern Boul. This house was partially damaged in 1923, and was demolished in Oct. 1930.
