Manhattan: 5th Avenue - 40th Street

Fifth Avenue, west side, from 40th to 42nd Streets, showing details of the new roofing at the N. Y. P. L. building. This was performed by the W. P. A. through the assistance of the City of New York. The new metal covering is "Monel" or a similar alloy and replaced a copper sheathing. The four views here are northward towards a background formed by W. 42nd Street and Fifth Avenue.
