36 Ericsson Place (formerly Beach Street), south side, between Varick and Hudson Street's, showing the home of Capt. John Ericsson of Civil War fame(the Monitor). This portion of Beach Street was changed to Ericsson Place in 1939, to honor and commemorate his achievements. About 1905 Gift of Urbrock Collection
