Manhattan: 86th Street (East) - East End Avenue

517 East 86th Street, west of, adjoining, and at the N.W. corner of East End Avenue. Henderson Place, perhaps the shortest street in the city, extends half-way in the block toward 87th Street, between No. 545-547. The chapel and hospital of the Sisters of Misericorde (Roman Catholic) is No. 523-535. January 31, 1928 P.L. Sperr. NEG #3432 The New York Sun of December 22, 1956 reports the filing of plans for a modern 6 story apartment on the sites of No's 517-21 E. 86th Street. These structures are at the left of this view being a 5 story tenement and the 2 recessed buildings of the Dobbs Day Nursery and are to the west of the hospital of the Sisters of Misercorde.
