Manhattan: Minetta Street - 6th Avenue.

Minetta Street, nos. 2,4,6, Manhattan Federal Art Project "Changing New York" Berenice Abbott, photographer [Note: negative at Museum of the City of New York] Code I A-3 Nov. 21, 1935 p.106, Changing New York 2-4-6 Minetta Street, west side, between Sixth Avenue and Minetta Lane, built between 1800 and 1807, probably the homes of artisans excluded from the then fashionable Varick Street. Occupied by ragpickers in early 1900s. Restored in 1913. Nos. 2 and 6 were remodelled in 1924. Demolished in 1936.

Manhattan: 6th Avenue - Minetta Street. Sixth Avenue, east side, north from Minetta Street, showing grassy plots upon which were buildings prior to the extension of Sixth Avenue, from Minetta Lane south to Church Street. The elongated 3-story structure on the right, that apparently faces Sixth Avenue is No. 2 Minetta Lane. Minetta Place, an enclosed Court in the center of this block formerly was in the foreground; the northern extremity of which is shown enclosed by a fence in views 2 (middle) and 3 (right).
