East River - Shore and skyline of Manhattan from East 58th Street - Williamsburg and Queensborough Bridges - [Riverview Terrace.]

East River, Manhattan, Shore and Skyline, north from E. 58th Street and under the Queensboro Bridge (at 59th Street). Retaining wall at the left supports a small thoroughfare that extends between these two points. This is Riverview Terrace and has houses on its westerly side facing the river. At its northerly extremity is the New York Steam Company plant and which appears at the left margin. Beneath same is its coal receiving platform. Present plans call for the usage of the rocky area in the foreground during construction of the East River Drive. At this date the rock drilling for same is underway at 54th Street and shortly will proceed to this location. February 9, 1939 P. L. Sperr
