Queens: Jamaica Avenue - 196th Street

Jamaica Ave., at the N.E. corner of One Hundredth ninety-sixth St., showing the J.G. Carpenter farmhouse, later F.W. Dutton's home, now a part of the Hollis Field Club. The original Carpenter farmhouse stood until about 1895 on the north side of Jamaica Ave. where Woodhull Ave. intersects. It was moved to the east side of Carpenter Ave., about 1,000 feet north of Jamaica Ave. Harry Lane then owned it. May 1923. View 2: April 1925. Eugene L. Armbruster Collection
