City Hall Park: a view of the southwestern corner, showing subway construction under progress. The boundaries of this corner are mail Street (left to center), and Broadway (right). Intersecting the latter is Park Place. Note at the S.W. corner of same, the buildings which have been replaced by the Woolworth Tower. Occupying the major portion of the background is the rear of the U.S. Post Office, which forms the south side of Mail Street. May 6, 1901. William B. Parsons Collection.
