Manhattan: Morningside Avenue - 114th Street (West)
Morningside (left) and Manhattan (right) Avenues, at W. 114 th Street, showing the Washington and Lafayette Statue. Plaque on same reads "Lafayette-Washington, presented to the City of New York by Chas. S. Rouss, April 19, 1900". Incidentally the donor, a merchant, was popularly known as "Broadway Rouss". Belonging to the late 90's he started as a peddler and thru thrift and enterprise he developed a huge organization with headquarters on Broadway. 1920 Copyright, American Studio Gift of Ubrock Collection
