Manhattan: Nassau Street - Ann Street

Nassau Street, south across Ann Street, showing an early view of the business section of the City. On the right is the distinctive Bennett Building as it was originally. Subsequently its height was increased. The massive structure obscuring Trinity Church is the Equitable Building. Note the weather observation station atop same at the rear. (See pg. 832- King's Handbook of N. Y.-1893) This structure, erected in 1872 was enlarged in 1887. On the left appears the curved roof atop the old Post Office.
