Manhattan: City Hall Park - Old Hall of Records.

City Hall Park: The old Hall of Records located at the S.W. corner of Park Row and Chambers Street. The structure was erected in 1735 as a debtors prison. During the Revolution it was used as a prison by the British. It was converted to its present status in 1840. July 4, 1860 Gift of Urbrock Collection American Studios
