Astor Avenue, north side, between Matthews and Bronxwood Avenues, showing an old barn, now used as a place from which locally-grown vegetables are sold. This was formerly part of the Wm. W. Astor property. On the south side of the avenue can be seen cultivated land. In the background appears Public School No. 89, at Colden and Mace Avenues, and on the extreme right appears, under construction, part of Christopher Columbus High School.
