Manhattan: 78th Street (East) - Lexington Avenue

East 78th Street, north side, east from Lexington Avenue. Note the row of private residences bearing No's. 153 to 163 (shown in View 2). That, adjoining the apartment house (No. 169 E. 78th Street) and bearing awnings is referred to in an article by Lee E. Cooper in the N.Y. Times of April 26, 1939. Mrs. Anna Drewick in 1929 combined these buildings into a single spacious dwelling with a garden at the rear, at a cost of $175,000. A deal recently consummated by Warren L. Marks, Daniel Brener Inc. will result in further changes by an undisclosed purchaser. This sale was subject to a lease expiring Sept. 30, 1939 and held by the tenant, Alfred H.
