Queens: Metropolitan Avenue - 70th Street

Metropolitan Avenue, north side, west of 70th Street, showing beyond the second stone yard Siebs Hotel, known also as the Central Hotel. C.F. and J.N.F. Siebs owned it respectively in 1873 and 1896-1898. Christian F. Siebs was born in Germany in 1831 and immigrated here in 1855. He began at this corner with 4 rooms which he gradually enlarged.
