Richmond: St. Marks Place - Hamilton Avenue

St. Marks Place, east side, between Hamilton Avenue and Nicholas Street, showing the sumptuous Castleton Hotel. It was built in 1889 on the site of the old St. Marks Hotel and the "Marble House" of Gilbert L. Thompson, son-in-law of Governor Tompkins. The hotel was burned November 12, 1907.
