Manhattan: 34th Street (West) - 9th Avenue
West 34th Street, east from Ninth Avenue, as photographed from the old "El" station. At the left is the former Manhattan Opera House overshadowed by the Hotel New Yorker. On the right margin is a portion of the Y. M. C. A. Practically adjoining is the J. C. Penney & Co. building. Beyond are, the Printing Crafts Bldg. at Eighth Avenue, an uncompleted office structure at Seventh Avenue, and the Hotel McAlpin. View 2 is in the same direction from a vantage point to the west of Ninth Avenue. This details the "El" station and the upper parts of the buildings before mentioned.
