East River - shore and skyline ; Queensborough bridge ; Williamsburg bridge.

East River, Shore and Skyline, Manhattan, at the foot of East 34th Street, and showing the old Long Island Railroad Ferry (now discontinued) at that point. The photographer is viewing generally northward from Pier No. 81 at the foot of 33rd Street and shows across the aforementioned detail the plant of the New York Steam Company, occupying the entire block east of First Ave., between 35th and 36th Street. In the near future this shore line will disappear as plans are being prepared to fill in the water front area between 14th and 35th Streets to carry the East River Drive around Bellevue Hospital and the (now under construction) 38th Street Tunnel to Queens.
