Manhattan: 38th Street (East) - 1st Avenue
E. 38th Street, west from First Avenue, showing mainly the southerly side of this thoroughfare. Running diagonally thru the corner property at the left are the tubes of the Queens Midtown tunnel. The former tenements standing at this site were demolished in 1929 to make way for a gasoline station and which in time was razed for the present improvement in April 1938. The adjoining buildings will follow in the Fall of 1939. To the right is the Eletco Co. warehouse, housing the delivery services of "United Parcels". This structure was erected in late 1928.
