Manhattan: 5th Avenue - 50th Street

In a New Setting: St. Patrick's Cathedral-- A new view of New York's greatest completed sacred edifice, St. Patrick's (R.C.) Cathedral on the east side of Fifth Ave. between 50th and 51st Sts. Note the new store building in right foreground, just being completed and soon to be occupied by Saks & Co. This formerly was the site of the Democratic Club. Jan. 12, 1924 Underwood & Underwood. Said to be the most imposing Church edifice in the U.S. The spires rise to a height of 339 feet, and the building extends back 332 feet on the side streets. The Cathedral was begun in 1858 and dedicated 21 years later.
