Queens: 69th Road - Grand Central Parkway

Flushing Meadow Park (Queens): Viewing southeastward across the marshes of the lower end of the park, from about 69th Road and Grand Central Parkway. In the background are the car yards and repair shops of the Independent System Subway. When this area later became part of the grounds of the New York World's Fair of 1939-40 an artificial lake--Willow Lake--was created here. View 3 shows construction operations.
