Bronx: Mayflower Avenue - Middleton Road

1620 Mayflower Ave., adjoining the N.E. corner of Middletown Road, showing the J. Ferris Mansion. It was built in about 1830. Between 1915 and 1917 the house was used as a summer home by the Cathedral Girls' Club, and at this date (1938) it is the sexton's house of the Tremont Terrace Moravian Church which faces on Pilgrim Ave., adjoining the N.W. corner of Middletown Road. The mansion stands directly behind the church proper. About 1923. Joseph P. Day.
