Bronx: Grand Concourse - 153rd Street (East)

Grand Concourse, between East 153rd and East 156th Streets, viewing north toward the latter across Franz Sigel Park. At the N. E. corner of East 156th Street is a six-story house, the Alexandria, nearing completion. On the cleared area, where side of sign is visible, were later erected a group of modern apartment buildings. View 2 is east across the clearance which inclines toward Sheridan Avenue. Shown, too, are the Melrose yards of the New York Central Railroad. View 3 shows the rears of the apartment buildings that were later erected on the site, the view being northwest from Sheridan Avenue, near East 153rd Street (the Morgan Steam Laundry). P. L.
