Manhattan: Broadway - 33rd Street

Broadway, north from 33rd Street, showing also Sixth Avenue, west side, from 33rd to 36th Streets. Sak's 34th Street store is in the left foreground with Macy's department store above it. In the center is the Herald Building. In 1928 it will be cut in half, and the northern, or rear portion demolished, with the Herald Square Building rising in its site. In the center background is the Hotel Normandie, and in slightly left-center background is the Metropolitan Opera House. Dominating the skyline is the new building of the New York Times.
